Preschool Times

Reminder
Please send in boots, hats, gloves, and snow
pants if your child has them. The weather is
warming up and we will be able to go
outside. If they do not have boots they stay
on the sidewalk.
Last week, the children learned about dental
health. They were able to paint a tooth with a
toothbrush. We put an egg in water and an egg
in pop to see what would happen if we drank a
lot of pop and did not brush our teeth. They were
surprised to see a brown egg the next day. I then
took a toothbrush and toothpaste and brushed
our egg clean. Then, if you haven't already been
told, I accidently broke the egg! Yikes! The
children had a good laugh about it. I have sent
home a toothbrushing calendar for your child to
fill out at home. When they complete it at the
end of the month, bring it back for a prize. We
also looked for pictures of smiles in magazines and
made a collage. Watch for our smile book soon.
We are celebrating Dr. Suess' s
birthday, which happens to be
today. We read Green Eggs and
Ham and tried them today. All,
but one child tried them. Most of
them liked the eggs. Tomorrow
we will be making Cat in the Hat
snacks with items donated by a
few of the moms. Thanks for your
donations. We will be making a
Foot Book that will be making its
way to your house to read with
your child. If you have any Dr.
Suess books or movies, send them
in for us to read and or watch!
On Thursday, we will be going to the Teddy
Bear Clinic at Carl Sandburg College in
Galesburg. The children DO NOT need to
bring a teddy bear. The college is giving
each child a teddy bear when we get there.
Ask your child what they did and saw on our
field trip when they get home on Thursday.
Letter of the Day
Next week, we will be starting a letter
of the day. Your child may bring in
something that starts with the letter of
the day. I may ask for a snack from
you starting with the letter of the day if
it is your snack day. Please let me
know if you are unable to send in
something. It will just be a suggestion.
