We hope everyone enjoyed the cocoa and cookies. I
know the children were very excited about having you come to their
school.
DATES TO REMEMBER:
February 11, Thursday is our Valentine Party at 2:00. Those on the committee are:
Katie Davis and Sharon Tracey co-chair
Amanda Sanderson, Carla Gilifillan, Crystal Collins-Barton
February 12, Friday is an EARLY DISMISSAL @ 11:30.
February 15, Monday is Presidents Day. NO SCHOOL

Please, return your child’s library book this Wednesday so your child may check out another one.
There is a book that is going home for you to read and return to school the next day. It is called “Shhh Don’t Wake the Children.” It has a picture of each child during naptime. I apologize for the poor print. I had a parent say she didn’t care that it was nice to read and would like me to make more books. I can’t say the ink situation will improve, but will send out more books of our children enjoying their day at school.
We are making some valentines and snowmen. The children had fun pretending the ice in the water table was glaciers. Some ice cubes were in the science area. The children used coarse salt to make tunnels in the ice and added colored water. The colored water made its way through the ice. The children thought it made the ice looked pretty.
We will be discussing Groundhog Day and Presidents Day. If you see an article in the paper about Groundhog Day, please send it in with your child. We will be looking for shadows. The children will discover that Lincoln’s face is on the penny and Washington’s face is on the quarter.
Remember to decorate your hat. We need them for our bulletin board. Some have already turned theirs in and they are great, thank you!
As you know we are collecting for the piggy bank. If you have loose change and want to send it in with your child it is appreciated.
The children will need their valentines for their
classmates by February 10th so they can deliver them.
Please do not want until the day of the party to send them. It
takes time to for each child to read the names and deliver their
valentines that is why I am asking for the valentines to be sent in
as early as possible. The list of children is included with this
newsletter. If you have any questions, feel free to write it in the
notebook or give me a call.
