Congratulations to Marcus for being our “Star of the Week.”
I hope you had fun at the family night. In case you didn’t know, Mrs. Darst had to kiss the pig. The kids loved watching her as she puckered up and gave the pig a kiss on the forehead.

December 20-January 2 is Winter Break
January 3, Monday Return to school
During our winter break, I want every one of you to have someone take a picture of your family and send a copy of it with your child on Monday, January 3. We will finish up the family bulletin board and begin discussing the pictures.
The children have learned a little about Hanukah. Everyone has a Menorah and pretends to light a candle each day they are here. Hanukah is celebrated for 8 days. The children are receiving a small gift each day. We will start discussing Holland’s Christmas traditions. We will be discussing Kwanza. Kwanza starts on the 26th. Each child will make a gift to exchange with another child to celebrate Kwanza. We are making stockings to hang on our tree. The children will be writing letters to Santa.
We have made Christmas trees and Santa Claus faces. Some are displayed in the windows of our room. The sun is not kind to our art activities that are put in the windows.
Mrs. Weigers will be here tomorrow. The children enjoy having her come to the classroom. She reads a story, sings a song, and makes a treat with the class. I hope you have been reading the information she sends home each month.
